The Pitts Special is a series of light aerobatic biplanes designed by Curtis Pitts. It has accumulated many competition wins since its first flight in 1944. The Pitts Special dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s and, even today, remains a potent competition aircraft in the lower categories. This aircraft is a favorite among sport pilots and homebuilders with its high-energy aerobatic maneuvers and distinctive appearance. It's a two-seater, with one seat behind the other, and it's capable of performing a wide range of aerobatic stunts. It's a true classic in the world of sport aviation!
