The Messerschmitt Bf 110, often called the ME 110, was a twin-engine heavy fighter (Zerstörer - 'Destroyer' in German) that became one of the Luftwaffe's key assets during World War II. Serving from the late 1930s through the war, this aircraft was versatile, undertaking roles such as bomber escort, fighter-bomber, night fighter, and reconnaissance. Despite its initial success, it struggled against more agile single-engine fighters. However, its adaptability saw it evolve with radar for night missions, proving crucial in the defense against Allied bombing raids. The Bf 110's design featured two engines, a twin tail, and a crew of two or three, making it a formidable presence in the skies. It was used extensively by the Luftwaffe and saw action on all fronts where Germany was involved.
