The Boeing E-3A Sentry, also known as the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), is a high-tech airborne surveillance, command, control and communication aircraft used by the United States Air Force. The E-3A Sentry can detect aircraft, ships and vehicles at long ranges and maintain surveillance over large areas.
