The Fairchild T-46 NGT, also known as the 'Next Generation Trainer', is a jet aircraft that was designed for the United States Air Force in the 1980s. This aircraft was intended to replace the T-37 Tweet as a primary trainer for student pilots. Despite its promising features, including a high-wing, twin-turbofan design, and modern avionics, the T-46 program was cancelled due to budget constraints. Only three prototypes were built, but the T-46 remains a notable example of advanced trainer design.
