The Martin B-57 Canberra is a twin-engine, jet-powered tactical bomber and reconnaissance aircraft that entered service with the United States Air Force (USAF) in 1953. It was an American-built, modified version of the English Electric Canberra. The B-57 was versatile with various versions serving in bombing, electronic warfare, and weather reconnaissance roles. It was operational during the Vietnam War and was known for its high-altitude performance. The B-57 Canberra was retired from active USAF service in 1983, but some were still flying in NASA's service until 2018. It's a testament to the aircraft's durability and adaptability.
