The Sikorsky CH-54 Skycrane is an American twin-engine heavy-lift helicopter designed by Sikorsky Aircraft for the United States Army. It was primarily used for the transport of heavy equipment and supplies during the Vietnam War. The CH-54, with its distinctive silhouette and powerful lifting capabilities, became an iconic figure in aerial logistics, capable of lifting cargo that was previously thought impossible to move by air.
